Australia's record harvest completed

(DATA ANALYSIS) Australia’s winter crops harvest has been completed with Australian Crop Forecasters, part of NZX Agri's Australian team, keeping their total winter crop estimate at 53.7 million tonnes, a level that well and truly surpasses previous records.

Less unsold grain left this season

The estimated tonnage of unsold grain stored on-farm as at 10 October 2016 is down 15% against the same time last year across all six cereal crops, the latest Arable Industry Marketing Initiative (AIMI) survey shows.

This survey covers the size of the 2016 harvest of wheat, barley and oats, the amount that has been sold and is in storage, the tonnage of carry-over stock from the 2015 harvest, and sowing intentions for autumn/winter, as at April 1 2016.
