Rachel Agnew is a senior analyst for AgriHQ, focusing on the red meat and wool sectors. In her role she is the editor and lead producer of the weekly Livestock Insight report, which reports on slaughter and store trends in NZ, as well as international market drivers. Rachel is also involved in analysis of the venison and wool sectors. In her role Rachel talks to a large number of industry stakeholders including meat companies, stock agents and marketers. Rachel is also a regular contributor to AgriHQ Pulse.
Rachel has been working in this role since 2012, initially for the iFarm business which was then purchased by NZX Agri in 2015. Prior to joining NZX Agri Rachel worked as a Policy Analyst for Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and as an Agribusiness Consultant for Nimmo-Bell & Co. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Business Studies, majoring in Agribusiness from Massey University.
Rachel was raised in the Wairarapa on a dairy farm and now owns a sheep, beef and process vegetable farm with her husband in the Hawke’s Bay, where they live with their three children.
