Mel Croad is a senior sheep and beef analyst with 14 years’ experience arming her with an excellent understanding of the markets and what’s likely to influence farmgate prices in the months ahead.
Mel works within the AgriHQ data analyst team and is primarily responsible for the Livestock Outlook forecast reports, as well as tailoring specific livestock market data reports and presentations to clients across New Zealand.
Mel studied Valuation and Farm Management at Massey University before embarking on roles with the agri-banking sector then becoming registered as a Rural Valuer.
Mel was born and raised on a sheep and beef farm in Hawke’s Bay and is now residing in Central Hawke’s Bay where she also has a hands-on involvement in a large farming operation with her husband and their young family.
Suz Bremner join NZX Agri in 2015 following the acquisition of iFarm. Suz’s role involves analysing data from sheep and cattle sales held around New Zealand, and producing AgriHQ’s LivestockEye reports.
Suz is also a regular contributor to the Farmers Weekly paper with weekly commentary on the market and the latest sale yard reports. She can also be heard on Radio New Zealand each Friday with commentary on the sheep & beef sector.
Suz holds a Bachelor of Business Studies, majoring in Agribusiness from Massey University, Prior to joining NZX Agri, Suz managed the family sheep and beef farm in Hawkes Bay, where she lives with her husband and two children.
Nicola Dennis is a senior analyst for AgriHQ, focusing on the red meat sector. Nicola joined the AgriHQ team in 2018 working on the Livestock Insight reports. As part of this role, Nicola talks to many industry stakeholders including meat companies, stock agents and marketers to understand price trends in NZ and the international market.
A scientist by trade, Nicola’s past includes working on prediction models, R programming and other data-heavy projects. Nicola holds a PhD degree in Health Sciences from the University of Otago.
Nicola farms a small sheep and beef farm with her partner and their son.
Reece joined AgriHQ in 2015, as an analyst on sheep & beef markets contributing to a number of AgriHQ reports including the AgriHQ Monthly Sheep and Beef Report and South Island Livestock Insight.
Reece now also leads AgriHQ’s forestry coverage and contributes to the LivestockEye saleyard reports.
Reece holds a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in International Business and Marketing and Honours (first class) in International Business from Victoria University of Wellington.
Sarah is a recent graduate from Massey University and has a strong background in farming, having grown up on an Angus Stud and lived in farming communities in the King Country, Southern Hawkes Bay and Tararua. After completing an Honours degree in psychology, Sarah wanted to find a way to use her analytical and communication skills in the agricultural sector. Her motivation is to help farmers and those in the industry to achieve the best results in their business. She is very excited to have joined the team in such an interesting time. Sarah is proud to contribute to the reliable and interesting products AgriHQ provides and looks forward to getting stuck in.
Caitlin Pemberton is AgriHQ's all-purpose analyst. Her research and analysis finds its way into various reports and across AgriHQ's business servicing the red meat and forestry customers.
Caitlin joined AgriHQ's team of analysts in 2018 entering into the analyst spectrum after studying for a Bachelor of Agri-Commerce at Massey University.
Born and bred in the Manawatu, Caitlin has an extensive array of practical experience working on farm. She also held various roles within two secondary schools which included working on a robotic dairy farm and teaching equestrian.
Ingrid Usherwood joined AgriHQ in 2016. Ingrid’s role is multifaceted - as an analyst of sheep and beef markets producing AgriHQ LivestockEye reports, collating and producing Upcoming Sale Notifications for sale yards throughout New Zealand. Ingrid’s educational background has been a boon as an integral part of the creation and production of the AginED page each week in farmers weekly and her dedication to continuing to grow this enterprise now and in the future.
Ingrid holds a four-year Bachelor of Education and Diploma of Teaching from Auckland University and Auckland College of Education. Born and bred in Hawkes Bay she also lived in Auckland for close to 17 years making her way back to rural Hawke’s Bay with her family in 2010.
AgriHQ also has a dynamic team of data collectors dotted across the country. Starting in the North at Wellsford and down to Temuka in the South this dedicated team ensures the AgriHQ analysts have up to date inform their market commentary.
Steph joined the team in 2004. Having worked in many parts of the business, it is with AgriHQ that she has spent the majority of her time. Steph is involved with the customer relations, customer data management and product development side of the business. Steph was born and bred on a hill country sheep and beef property in Hunterville and completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Economics and Psychology at Massey University. Not wanting to move too far from home, she owns a sheep and beef finishing farm with her husband and three boys in the Manawatu.
Grant has been with the AgriHQ team since October 2020. With an extensive background in Business Development and Account Management Grant works with existing subscribers, provides custom and bespoke data reports where required and helps to bring on new subscribers. Being the "townie" in the office Grant endures many a ribbing but is loving learning the farming culture and loves being at the Sale Yard each week helping the Data Collection teams where needed. Grant's spare time is taken up with volunteering as a Firefighter in Ashhurst, coaching Junior Football and spending time with his partner and their kids.
Anna joined the team in June 2019 and is the go to for all AgriHQ subscription administration. Anna is more often than not the smiley and helpful face on the other end of the phone or email when our subscribers get in contact with us. Anna was born and raised on a sheep and beef farm in the Central North Island, and completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Mathematics and Economics at Massey University. Anna also has the technical skills that make her GlobalHQ's Salesforce CRM administrator, helping the business manage the customer database in the most efficient and productive way.
