The first significant rainfall of the winter came too late in the week to have a direct impact on most cattle sales, although buoyant markets are expected once that grass responds.

Meanwhile, Feilding continues to put through between 10,000 and 15,000 lambs each week, with male lambs trading at around $155-$178, and top ewe lambs fetching between $135 and $147.
